Final FB post about enjoying the simple things in life

KUALA LUMPUR: The welfare of the Sarawak people and the state’s wellbeing were matters that were always close to the heart of the late Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem.

In his final Facebook posting, Adenan expressed how the year 2016 had brought “some pivotal changes to shape a better Sarawak for our beloved future generations”.

“Our journey together shall definitely continue next year, with stronger grit, determination and a harmonious spirit that is unique to us here in Sarawak,” he said.

His last posting was dated Dec 23, 2016 and had a picture of him posing in front of a Christmas tree with his wife, Puan Sri Jamilah Anu.

Writing about the festive season at the end of the year, Adenan urged netizens to “take some time to slow down and enjoy the simpler things in life”.

“Give more than what we take. Seize the opportunity to connect with others in a special way and draw strengths from our differences.

“Find the courage to redefine our own expectations, to enrich the lives of strangers and friends alike,” he said, wishing everyone a blessed holiday. — Bernama
