GEORGE TOWN: Some RM707mil or 48.7% of next year’s state budget will be used as development allocations for the Chief Minister’s Office and State Secretariat, a move that has alarmed political commentators and observers.
The allocations are 4.4 times more than in 2016 and many are gawking because the bulk of it will come from the state’s consolidated revenue fund while the state’s estimated revenue made up only RM687mil.
