Hisham: LMS to replace older patrol ships


THE decision to buy four Littoral Mission Ships (LMS) from China is to replace older patrol ships that have become too expensive to operate, said Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein.

The average age of the navy’s assets, he said, was over 30 years, causing the operational costs of the old ships to be too high.
