PETALING JAYA: Television personality Norashikin Abdul Rahman (pic), who married the Sultan of Selangor, is known for her friendliness and humility.

Friends and colleagues in the media are very happy for the royal couple and wish them both happiness.

Former colleague Mohd Ishahrulddin Md Tahir, 30, said he had known her since 2009, when he started as an intern in RTM.

“I have seen her presenting news on television since I was young. When I met her for the first time, I was taken by her warmth. She is so friendly despite being a senior,” he said when contacted yesterday.

Ishahrulddin said Norashikin was professional at work and would share information with all the staff, including those doing the ground work.

“She taught me a lot when I was at RTM. I am so happy for her and I wish her all the best,” he said.

Ishahrulddin said despite Norashikin’s petite figure, she was very fit and enjoyed hiking, with the recent one on Mount Bromo, East Java, Indonesia.

“If we look at her, maybe people do not know that she is into sports as recently we went hiking on Mount Bromo together.

A senior editor in RTM, who declined to be named, said that she just met Norashikin last month when she came to the studio.

“She is soft spoken. Our team knows that she is friendly and mingles easily.

“People will always notice how nice her smile is,” she said.

Another colleague, who did not want to be identified, said she had learned a lot from Norashikin.

“The first word that comes to mind when describing her is helpful. If you need any assistance, you can just approach her.

“She will guide and teach you. I will always remember this about her,” he said.
