PKR sacks Chegubard for damaging party image

PETALING JAYA: PKR has sacked its former Rembau division chief Badrul Hisham Shaharin, better know as Chegubard, following the results of its internal investigation by the disciplinary board.

Chegubard was served the termination of membership notice by the PKR leadership Friday.

"This morning, I received an e-mail notifying me after I had refused to be persuaded.

"What is the difference between PKR and Umno, when you expose wrongdoing and corruption (and) it is considered a crime?" he said on his Facebook page.

The termination letter, signed by PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli and dated Aug 26, said the disciplinary board decided to sack Chegubard under Clause 41.7 of the party constitution for damaging the image of the party and causing divisions among the members by defying party's orders.

With the dismissal, all positions held by Chegubard under the party are stripped.

However, he can file an appeal to the PKR leadership within 14 days.

Chegubard was scheduled to appear Friday afternoon at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) office in Putrajaya to hand over documents relating to the land transfer status of Lot 68054 Paya Indah Wetlands, Selangor.
