Penang installs modern ‘town criers’

GEORGE TOWN: Penang has taken enforcement a step further by being the first state in the country to utilise horn speakers together with CCTV cameras.

Penang Island City Council (MBPP) engineering department deputy director A. Rajendran said while the usage of CCTV cameras was not new in other states, Penang was the first in the country to use the cameras with horn speakers in its effort to step up enforcement.
