Taps to go dry in 60,000 Negri homes

SEREMBAN: Already having to deal with the oppressive heat for weeks now, some 60,000 people in Negri Sembilan will have to brace for a tougher day today, as water supply to their homes has been temporarily cut due to maintenance and pipe-laying works.

Apart from Seremban, scheduled water cuts will affect residents in Port Dickson, Tampin and Rembau.

Syarikat Air Negri Sembilan (Sains) said the Sungai Terip treatment plant, which supplies water to Seremban and its surrounding areas, had to be temporarily shut down due to maintenance works by Tenaga Nasional.

“Supply to the affected areas should be restored within 24 hours, ” said its public affairs division head Norzita Ismail.

Supply to the affected areas will be cut from 10am today to 10am tomorrow.
