The solar eclipse taken in Kota Kinabalu by Normimie Diun

KOTA KINABALU: Residents here woke up to a partial solar eclipse on Wednesday morning.

The picture above was taken by The Star's photographer Normimie Diun at Balai Cerap al-Biruni in Putatan here at 8am.

Depending on the location, Malaysians will be able to witness the phenomenon starting 7.24am on Wednesday during “first contact” when the moon’s disk will first touch the edge of the sun.
