In the picture below, Thien, a restaurant manager, is seen arriving at her mother's house in Sandakan in Sabah on Monday, hours after the authorities secured her release.
Thien was freed by Abu Sayyaf captors late Sunday. She arrived in Sandakan after a six hour boat ride from Jolo island and was handed over to her family.
Thien and engineer Bernard Then were taken from the Sandakan Ocean King seafood restaurant on May 4.
Police are working to secure the release of Then.
