Body wrapped in plastic mat found in irrigation canal

ALOR SETAR: A body wrapped in plastic mat was found floating in an irrigation canal on Thursday at Kampung Hutan Pulai near here.

The body believed to be a Myanmar national in his 20s was discovered by padi farmers at about 8.30am.

Kota Setar District Police Investigation Officers and personnel cordoned-off the scene to carry out investigation.

The body had been removed from the irrigation canal and was sent to Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital for post-mortem.

It was understood, no BCG mark was found on the body of the deceased.

The body was wrapped in a plastic mat tied up at the head, legs and abdomen section.
