Teen mum held after child abuse video goes viral

IPOH: A 17-year-old mother has been arrested after a video of her abusing her baby went viral on social media.

OCPD Asst Comm Sum Chang Keong said the girl was detained after her relative lodged a police report on Sunday.

He said the girl had been remanded to help facilitate investigations.

“The case will be referred to the deputy public prosecutor for further action,” he said on the Polisperak Facebook page.

Viewers were outraged by the video clip and requested police to take action against the girl.

The 48-second video shows the baby boy crying after an unseen woman slaps him on the face and body repeatedly.
