PETALING JAYA: The late Michael Jackson may have just been one man but the legendary performer certainly had enough talent for an entire group.

According to the lead cast and crew of the musical production Thriller Live, it took six main performers to match Jackson’s amazing musical versatility.

This was because the man known as the King of Pop was a rock singer, a soul singer, a visionary, a messenger and more, said Thriller Live tour manager Phil Watts.

“We all play different parts to bring one man to life,” said cast member J Rome.

“Like me, I play the disco side of him. It may seem strange that you need six performers to represent one man’s genius but that’s the amazing thing about this show and about Michael. He was that good.”

“I think every single one of us has a little piece of Michael,” said fellow cast member Prinnie Stevens at a press conference yesterday.

Five performers were in town for the Malaysian run of Thriller Live, a musical show celebrating Jackson through soaring music and energetic choreography.

They performed two of Jackson’s biggest hits, Bad and Black or White before the presentation of prizes to Teams Swagxy, Acts-Treme10 and Reflections, the winners of the Thriller Live Flashmob Dance Competition (Category 2- Facebook Likes) held in conjunction with the show.

Milestone Production managing director Grace Lee said Malaysia was the only South-East Asian country to host a Thriller Live performance this year.

Thriller Live runs at Putra Indoor Stadium, Kuala Lumpur, from March 19 to 25 at 8.30pm, plus 3pm weekend matinees on March 21 and 22.

The show is presented by Milestone Production, supported by Malaysia Major Events, a division of the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau, an agency under the Tourism and Culture Ministry, with RHB as the official bank, Munchy’s as Gold Sponsor and Star Publications (M) Bhd as the media partner.

Tickets cost RM538, RM468, RM398, RM298, RM168 and RM128.
