KUALA LUMPUR: MCA Youth chief Chong Sin Woon will lead a Malaysian delegation to the Expo Milano 2015 in Italy which will focus on the global food industry.

He said the expo will be a platform to promote Malaysia besides exposing local entrepreneurs to the latest innovations in the food industry.

"The theme is a serious new challenge for mankind to provide quality and sustainable food protection," Chong told a press conference.

He said the Malaysian pavilion would be among the main attractions alongside those of Germany and China.

The first group from Malaysia comprising public and business people will leave for the expo on May 7 for a one week visit.

A total of 22 visits, each a 40-member group, would be organised during the three-month expo period from May 1 to Oct 3.

The 41st expo in Shanghai attracted some 73 million visitors with investments touching RM45bil.
