Ministers’ wives head Pahang state awards list


KUANTAN: The wives of several ministers head the list of recipients of the Pahang state awards in conjunction with the 84th birthday of Sultan of Pahang Sultan Ahmad Shah today.

Among the 23 recipients of the Sri Sultan Ahmad Shah Pahang (SSAP) award, which carries the “Datuk Seri” title, are Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s wife Puan Sri Noorainee Abdul Rahman, Pahang Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob’s wife Datin Seri Junaini Kassim, Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein’s wife Datin Seri Marsilla Tengku Abdullah, International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed’s wife Datin Seri Khamarzan Ahmad Meah and Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s wife Datin Seri Hamidah Khamis.

Four Pahang state excos are also recipients of the SSAP.

They are Datuk Mohd Sharkar Shamsudin, Datuk Mohd Soffi Abdul Razak, Datuk Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail and Datuk Shahiruddin Ab Moin.

The other individuals honoured with the award include Pahang police chief Senior Deputy Comm Datuk Sharifuddin Ab Ghani, Sarawak police chief Comm Datuk Muhammad Sabtu Osman, Malakoff Corporation Bhd chief executive officer Datuk Syed Faisal Albar (pic) and Media Prima Berhad group managing director Datuk Amrin Awaluddin.

The sole recipient of the honorary SSAP is Football Association of Indonesia president Prof Dr Djohar Arifin Husin.

Seven individuals will receive the Sri Indera Mahkota Pahang (SIMP), which carries the “Datuk” title.

They include the wife of the Armed Forces chief Puan Sri Umi Kalsom Wan Awang, Perkep Malaysia chairwoman Puan Sri Dr Imran Ibrahim, Tahan assemblyman Datuk Wan Amizan Wan Abdul Razak and Felda Global Ventures Holdings Berhad chief executive officer Mohammed Emir Mavani Abdullah.

The 34 recipients of the Darjah Sultan Ahmad Shah Pahang (DSAP), which carries the “Datuk” title, include Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court judge Datuk Rozana Ali Yusoff, Pahang legal adviser Shamsulbahri Ibrahim, state Education Department director Rosdi Ismail and state deputy police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Fatimah Ghazali.

A total of 102 individuals will receive the Darjah Indera Mahkota Pahang (DIMP), which carries the “Datuk” title, including MCA Youth secretary-general and Pahang MCA Youth chief Leong Kim Soon.
