Man claims trial to allegedly raping, robbing Facebook 'friend'


KUALA LUMPUR: An unemployed man was brought before two Session Courts here Thursday to answer six charges, including the alleged rape of a woman who was his "friend" on Facebook.

Mohamad Faiz Apandi, 28, claimed trial before Judge Azwarnida Affandi to raping a 21-year-old woman who befriended him on Facebook, near a road in Brickfields on Aug 23 at 8pm.

He also claimed trial to committing carnal intercourse against the order of nature with the same victim at the same place, date and time.

He further denied robbing the same victim of her handphone and RM200 cash while armed with a knife at the same place, date and time.

The judge did not set any bail and fixed Oct 2 for re-mention.

Mohamad Faiz also claimed trial before Judge Azman Ahmad to robbing Siti Hajar Mustafa, 23, of her handbag while armed with a knife, at Lorong Sentul Jaya, around 4am on Aug 7.

He also claimed trial to stealing a Perodua Myvi car belonging to Hamidah Yon, which was parked near the Benneli Showroom in Jalan Ipoh between 4am and 6am on Aug 7.

He further denied an alternative charge of possession of stolen property, a car, at the roadside near Hotel YY318 in Jalan Pudu at 6.15am on Aug 29.

The judge did not set bail and fixed Oct 7 for re-mention.

Deputy public prosecutor Siti Aisyah Ahmad and S. Nithia conducted the prosecution while the accused was not represented. - Bernama
