MCA Youth calls for concerted effort to help MAS

KUALA LUMPUR: MCA Youth has called for a concerted effort to help Malaysia Airlines (MAS) be profitable again and regain the confidence of international passengers.

Its chief Chong Sin Woon expressed regret that certain quarters, including those from PAS, had cited religious reasons for the losses suffered by the airline.

He urged people to be sensitive to the feelings of MAS personnel, their families and those who had lost their loved ones in the two tragic incidents involving MAS aircraft.

Chong said it was also the wrong time for Umno Youth to talk about the dress attire of MAS cabin crew and that only non-Muslims should serve liquor on board.

He said the country was still in mourning over Flight MH17.

“At the same time, the staff are worried about losing their jobs.

“Yet we are concerned about how MAS cabin crew should be dressed and whether liquor should be served when most airlines serve liquor on international routes,” he said in a statement.
