PKR adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim wrote to the palace on Sunday, requesting an audience with the Selangor Sultan for his wife to explain the state’s mentri besar crisis and the party’s decision and stand on the matter.

The statement from the palace, signed by the Sultan’s private secretary Datuk Mohamad Munir Bani, said the Ruler did not wish to be involved in PKR’s internal issues.

“The letter was presented to the Sultan of Selangor on Monday, Aug 11, and His Royal Highness has instructed me to inform Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim that His Highness will not be granting the PKR president an audience,” said Mohamad Munir.
