Rejoicing the World Cup thrills and spills at Soccerfest

KUALA LUMPUR: The envoys of Germany and Argentina, their countrymen and thousands of fans across Malaysia cheered and watched the thrills, kicks and super saves coming live from the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro on huge outdoor screens and on their home TVs as the most spectacular sporting event of the year came to an end.

Peppered with missed chances and offside calls over the regular run of the game, a goal during extra time sent German ambassador Holger Michael and supporters of his country’s team into ecstasy, crowning them as world champions for the fourth time.
