IRB cracks down on tax dodgers

KUALA LUMPUR: The Inland Revenue Board (IRB) is intensifying its crackdown against tax dodgers with more cases of evasion among businesses to be prosecuted as criminal offences, said its investigation department director Datuk Mohd Nizom Sairi.

He said as companies resorted to sophisticated methods to avoid paying tax, the offences would be treated as criminal instead of civil cases.
