Bus catches fire at North-South Expressway


The flames was put out after an hour.

IPOH: A bus carrying 20 passengers caught fire when travelling along the North-South Expressway at KM263 on Monday.

Meru Raya Fire Station senior officer Mohd Nasir Mohd Arshad said the bus was heading to Penang from Cameron Highlands when the incident occurred at 6.40pm.

"Seven firemen rushed to the scene upon receiving the call at 6.43pm and managed to put out the flames after an hour.

"The cause of the fire is still under investigation," he said.

No casualties were reported.
