SUBANG JAYA: Come June 1, Jacquita Gonzales will try hard to forget that it will be her wedding anniversary.

Jacquita, the wife of MH370’s in-flight supervisor Patrick Francis Gomes, said the families of the crew members of the vanished craft still dream about their loved ones who were on board the Malaysia Airlines plane that disappeared early March 8.

“Some days, the dreams are good and we remember the happy times. On other days, we get sad dreams,” she said at a press conference called by the National Union of Flight Attendants Malaysia (Nufam) here yesterday.

The event was held to announce a charity dinner in support of the grieving families of the missing crew members.

“My daughter texted me to say she dreamt of her father. She said she saw him soaking wet, and that he looked tired and in pain.

“My grandson is waiting for him to come back from his ‘really long trip’ and hopefully in time for his birthday at the end of the month.

“Our anniversary is supposed to be on June 1. I try to keep myself busy and not think about it,” Jacquita said.

Laila Ngah, the wife of cabin crew member Wan Swaid Wan Ismail, said the 10 families have rallied together in this difficult period.

“I feel for Intan (Maizura) the most. She just gave birth to a son and the boy may never know his father. But she won’t go through this alone because she will have her family and we will be there too,” she said.

Intan Maizura Othman, a fellow Malaysia Airlines flight attendant, gave birth to a son on May 15 without her beloved husband, airline steward Muhammad Hazrin, by her side.

Laila lamented that MAS had “abandoned” those who sought aid from a foreign law firm.

Nufam president Ismail Nasaruddin She also criticised MAS for cutting off caregiving services to the families that sought the counsel of Ribbeck Law Chartered, saying it was their right to have legal representation on any matter.

The Nufam charity dinner will be held at the Empire Hotel on June 7 to raise money for the 10 families.
