BEIJING: Police officer and security guards here have cordoned off the street where the Malaysian Embassy is located, in anticipation of a protest by the family members of the Chinese passengers who were on MH370.
The families announced on their official Weibo account that they would be present at the embassy, located at Liangmaqiao North Street, around 10.30am but had not arrived as at 11am.
The heavy police and media presence has attracted curious bystanders.
MH370 went missing March 8 enroute from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. It carried 239 passengers and crew.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak announced late Monday that MH370 was lost in the southern Indian Ocean and all on board feared dead.
