KOTA BARU: The four children of Malaysian couple Azizul Raheem Awaluddin and Shalwati Norshal, who are on trial in Sweden, are struggling with Bahasa Malaysia.
Aisyah said she and her brothers Ammar, Adam and Arif are having difficulty in their studies as they are still unable to fully comprehend the national language.
"Schooling is fine except when the teacher speaks in Bahasa Malaysia. I do not understand and when the teacher asked me I replied OK," he told reporters after a visit by Deputy Foreign Minister Datuk Hamzah Zainuddin, here.
Aisyah, 14, is studying at SMK Padang Kala in Melor while Ammar (12), Adam (11) and Arif (7) are studying at SK Padang Kala since Feb 9.
Hamzah, who was accompanied by the Malaysian Ambassador in Sweden, Datuk Badruddin Ab Rahman, said the four children missed their parents so much.
"They expressed their feelings in a book which I will deliver to their parents. I am going to say that the children are healthy and really missed them."
He thanked all the parties who assisted and followed developments of the four children.
Azizul Raheem and Shalwati Norshal are on trial in Sweden for allegedly beating their four children in several incidents from Sept 2010 to Dec last year. - Bernama
