KOTA BARU: Two teenage boys sustained head and bodily injuries after being beaten by a group of men over suspicion of molesting a 14-year-old girl in Taman Desa Kemunin, Padang Tembak on Saturday.
Kota Baru police chief ACP Azham Othman said they were believed to be beaten by the men using iron rods.
"The two boys were resting at home when six men rushed in and assaulted them. They were then taken to another house before the men continued beating them using iron rods," he told Bernama when contacted on Sunday.
Azham said initial investigation found that the boys were accused of molesting the girl in a house in Pengkalan Chepa at about 2am on Saturday.
"Prior to the incident, the boys had taken the girl out for a ride in a car before one of them decided to take the girl home.
"When the girl refused to enter the house, one of the boys grabbed her by the hand and tried to take off her clothes, tearing it along the way, besides trying to kiss her," he said.
Azham said the boys eventually let the girl go and sent her home, after which the girl lodged a police report.
He said the two boys have been remanded for four days to facilitate investigations, while efforts were being done to track down the six men involved in beating and causing injuries to the boys. - Bernama
