Woman found dead hours after checking into Ipoh hotel

IPOH: A 46-year-old woman was found dead in a budget hotel hours after checking in on Saturday.

Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Sum Chang Keong said the woman's male friend found her dead at about 7am. They had checked in at about 1.30am.

ACP Sum said the man left the room after checking in and returned two hours later and found the woman "sleeping."

The man left the room again and returned some four hours later.

“When he realised that the victim was dead, as she was motionless, he alerted the hotel management and lodged a police report,” he said.

ACP Sum said early investigations showed that there was no criminal element involved the case.

The body has been taken to Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital for post mortem.
