Kedah announces special holiday for Thaipusam festival

SUNGAI PETANI: The Kedah government announced Thaipusam will be a special holiday (cuti peristiwa) for the state this year.

State Mentri Besar Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir, when announcing it this afternoon, said the Yang diPertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah, who is also the Sultan of Kedah, consented to make the celebration a special holiday for Kedah.
