NSC alerts three states to brace for second wave of floods


KUALA LUMPUR: The National Security Council (NSC) announced the end of the first wave of floods on Wednesday, but warned three states to brace for a second wave expected to occur from Friday to Monday.

In a statement, the NSC said the Malaysian Meteorological Department had warned of a second round of monsoon rains, and areas expected to be affected are Terengganu (Dungun dan Kemaman), Pahang (Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin) and Johor (Segamat and Mersing).
