More Malaysians flock to Japan

GEORGE TOWN: The number of Malaysians visiting Japan hit a record high this year, so much so that the Japanese government is encouraged to have surau in airports, said Japanese Consul-General Ryuji Noda.

“As of this month, the number stands at about 120,000, which is 30% higher than last year. We are happy with the increase,” he said, adding that the visits were mostly for business or leisure.
