SEREMBAN: Licensed private hospitals are allowed to operate blood bank services and carry out blood donation campaigns under the Private Healthcare and Facilities Act.
However, National Blood Centre director Dr Roshida Hasan said the standards used for donor screening, collection, screening for transfusion transmitted infection, component preparation and storage should meet the standards set by the Health Ministry.
