TAMIL NESAN reported that the Tamilaga Vivasayigal Sangam in Madurai organised a rally on Monday to pressure the Tamil Nadu government to write off loans that had been granted to farmers.
The reason given was that the entire state was drought-hit and needed the compensation to be doubled.
