PETALING JAYA: If the Election Commission (EC) wants postal vote for all Malaysians overseas, the Cabinet will approve the request, said Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz.

“We will certainly approve and facilitate any recommendations the EC makes. We can't say no because it (the EC) is independent,” he said yesterday.

He said if the EC had any recommendations, it would have to be forwarded to the Cabinet secretariat as a memorandum.

The EC said recently it was looking into the possibility of allowing all Malaysians overseas to vote by post.
