MUAR: The state government welcomes the declaration by the Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar to name Bandar Maharani here as the Royal Town of Johor.
Mentri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman said it was timely and appropriate for the town to receive royal status as it was among the oldest in Johor.
