Rela aiming for a total of 300,000 by 2011

KLANG: The Volunteers of Malay­sian People (Rela) is aiming to have a total of 300,000 personnel in Selangor by the end of this year.

Selangor Rela director Brigadier-General Khairi Mohd Alwee said that the increase in recruitment would show that the community is gradually recognising Rela’s presence as a corps that looks out for the safety of the people, especially in keeping the crime rate low.
