SINGAPORE: The Government is studying the possibility of reducing the fee for broadband services nationwide, to ensure that the people, especially those in the rural areas, can afford the service.
Information, Communication and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim said that in Singapore, the Internet service fee for the basic speed of 2 megabits per second (Mbps) was S$10 or about RM20 per month, and this could also be applied in Malaysia as the schools were now being charged RM20 per month for the same speed.
