Tee quits all party posts

KUALA LUMPUR: Tan Sri Tee Hock Seng has quit his positions as the MCA treasurer-general and Federal Territory MCA chief.

He tendered his resignation letter yesterday to party president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek and secretary-general Datuk Wong Foon Meng.

MCA chief administrative director Lim Chin Hai received the letter on their behalf yesterday morning.

When contacted, Tee, a staunch supporter of former president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat, said he had stated in the letter that he would not be persuaded to retract his resignation.

Tee, also president of the Federation of Hokkien Associations Malaysia, said he would continue to be concerned about developments in the MCA.

“I hope the new leadership will focus on party consolidation and move forward to serve the community and the country,” said Tee, a businessman.
