Five royals on Negri Sembilan honours list


SEREMBAN: The Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir’s three sisters will be bestowed with the state’s highest award — the Darjah Kerabat Yang Amat Mulia Tuan Raden (DK­­YR) – in conjunction with the ruler’s 62nd birthday celebration today.

Tunku Datin Anne Dakhlah, Tun­ku Deborah and Tunku Deanna will receive their awards at Istana Besar Seri Menanti Throne Room from Tuanku Muhriz, who is celebrating his first birthday as state ruler.

Two other recipients of the DKYR, who are also members of the Negri Sembilan royal family, are Tunku Datuk Seri Adnan Tunku Besar Burhanuddin and his brother Tunku Imam Tunku Datuk Seri Mahmud.

Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is the sole recipient of the Seri Utama Negri Sembilan (SUNS) that carries the title Datuk Seri Utama.

Tuanku Muhriz also conferred the Darjah Seri Setia Tuanku Muhriz Yang Amat Terbilang (SSTM) that carries the title Datuk Seri to AmBank Group chairman Tan Sri Azman Hashim and Maxis Bhd chairman Raja Tan Sri Arshad Raja Tun Uda.

Other recipients of the SSTM are Appeals Court judge Datuk Md Raus Sharif, Army Chief Gen Tan Sri Muhammad Ismail Jamaluddin, Tunku Datuk Mizan Tunku Maamor and Tengku Datuk Hasmuddin Tengku Othman.

Among the 40 recipients of the Darjah Dato’ Paduka Negeri Sembilan (DPNS) that carries the title Datuk are state secretary Datuk Mat Ali Hassan, state women, family development and community development committee chairman Zainab Nasir, state housing, local government, new villages and public transport committee chairman Siow Chen Pin, state plantation affairs, and human resources, environment and public complaints committee chairman V.S. Mogan.

Other recipients of the DPNS are High Court judge Abdul Alim Abdullah, state Public Works Department director Ir Roslan Md Taha, Malaysian ambassador to Italy Rusli Naam, University College Sedaya International vice-chancellor Peter Ng Tong Se, state police chief SAC I Datuk Osman Salleh, Army Logistics head Mej Gen Datuk Mohd Salim Ali, Sarawak Special Branch chief SAC II Awaludin Jadid, KIMMA president Syed Ibrahim Kader, Negri Sembilan Hockey Association vice-president Logendran Narayanasamy and Malaysian Golf Association vice-president Yaakob Kassim.

Among the nine receiving the Darjah Setia Tuanku Muhriz Yang Amat Gemilang (DSTM) that also carries the title Datuk are Tengku Amran Tengku Datuk Mohd Yusof, Syed Tahir Syed Ja’afar and Joseph Menezes.

Recipients of the Justice of Peace (JP) award are, among others, Abd Khalid Abu Hassan, Datuk Tio Boon Yiaw and A. Thevasagayam.
