Communication skills vital for success, says trainer

PETALING JAYA: Everyone can develop good communication skills, a senior trainer on communications said.

“Good communication grooms effective leaders who transform lives, grow organisations and change history,” said Ethan Becker, co-author of Mastering Communication at Work: How Great Managers Speak, Influence and Lead.

Becker, who has served as a communication consultant to high profile clients, said there was a difference in his teaching approach in Asia due to cultural differences.

“But at the end of the day, the concepts to good communication are the same.

“What’s unique is the implementation of the principles,” said Becker, who shared tips and concepts from his book at a public lecture in Menara Star yesterday.

The talk was organised by Star Publications (M) Bhd and the Asian Centre for Media Studies.
