RM12mil wedding for Fann Wong and Lee

SINGAPORE’S MediaCorp stars Fann Wong and Christopher Lee have finally tied the knot in a RM12mil (S$5mil) wedding on Tuesday.

China Press has reported that Lee led an entourage of eight Porsche Cayenne with a Rolls Royce to Wong’s high-end condominium in Orchard Road on the auspicious day.

The daily also reported that Lee’s groomsmen were all dressed in black suits while the bridegroom wore a white suit.

Wong, on the other hand, wore a Vera Wang gown.

Fellow actress Patricia Mok, who was one of the bridesmaids, set four challenges for Lee before he could reach Wong.

It was reported that he had to eat four packets of curry rice, porridge with liquor, write down the movies he had starred in with Wong and had to extract a 50 sen coin stuck in a carrot.

The couple, both 38, had courted for about eight years.

> China Press quoted Deputy Education Minister Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong as saying that the Government plans to transform school hostels, approved under the 10th Malaysia Plan, into multi-ethnic lodging.

He said the Education Ministry was expected to conduct a test-run on the project in Klang.

Dr Wee told the daily that the hostels would help to resolve accommodation problems for students from poor families or those who lived on the outskirts.

The multi-ethnic hostels would match the 1Malaysia concept in allowing students of diverse ethnic backgrounds, a better chance to get to know each other by living together.
