Rare orchid voted to be Sabah’s state flower

KOTA KINABALU: A rare orchid unique to Sabah has been overwhelmingly voted to be the state flower. 

Borneo Orchid Society of Sabah president Datuk C.L. Chan said that of the 1,047 votes from visitors to the just concluded Borneo Orchid Show, 283 had selected the Paphiopedilum rothschildianum, or slipper orchid, as the state flower.
