KUALA SELANGOR: Each day, receding tides expose the huge amount of trash that ends up in the estuary of Sungai Buloh. Unfortunately, it is at this foul site in Bagan Sungai Buloh, a village near Kuala Selangor, that all kinds of wildlife, including that of an endangered species, forage for food.
Four milky storks, a totally protected species that is listed as “vulnerable” to extinction, feed on fish, crabs and worms in the exposed mudflats together with birds such as the little egret, great egret, grey heron, lesser adjutant, sandpiper, tern and kingfisher as well as animals like sea otters and long-tailed macaques.
