PM: Rafidah must explain AP issue to Cabinet

SEPANG: Minister of International Trade and Industries Datuk Seri Rafidah Aziz must provide an explanation to the Cabinet Wednesday on the controversy surrounding the award of Approved Permits (AP) for car imports.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said many issues have been raised on the matter.

"I think she is coming tomorrow. We would like many clarifications from her," the Prime Minister told reporters on his return from Los Angeles Tuesday.

Abdullah returned home after visiting his wife Datin Seri Endon Mahmood, who is undergoing cancer treatment there.

Last Wednesday, Rafidah skipped the weekly Cabinet meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, citing medical reasons.
