Malacca CM receives honorary doctorate


DUE REWARD: Malacca Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Mohd Rustam receiving an honorary doctorate from Kolej Universiti Teknikal Kebangsaan Malaysia (KUTKM) Chancellor Tun Syed Ahmad Syed Mahmud Shahabudin yesterday. 

Mohd Ali was conferred the Honorary Doctorate of Management for his contributions in youth development during the KUTKM chancellor's installation and commemorative convocation ceremony held at Dewan Seri Negri. 

The Universiti Sains Malaysia graduate, with an honours degree in social science, has been active in youth movements since the 1980s. 

He had been the president of World Assembly of Youth, World Youth Foundation chairman, Gerakan Belia 4B president and chairman of Koperasi Shamelin Malaysia. 

He initiated micro-credit schemes to help young entrepreneurs start information technology related businesses and small and medium industries.
