Programmes to be dubbed in Mandarin

FROM next month, all Chinese programmes including movies and serialised opera aired by RTM, which operates TV1 and TV2, will be dubbed in Mandarin.  

In an interview with Sin Chew Daily, Deputy Information Minister Datuk Donald Lim said the ministry had agreed in principle that the switch to Mandarin, from having TV programmes both in Mandarin and the Cantonese dialect, was part of efforts to encourage Malaysian Chinese to use Mandarin.
