Circular economy in Malaysia: Going round and round in a good way

MALAYSIA’S Local Government Development Ministry is currently crafting a Circular Economy Blueprint for Solid Waste, which is expected to be completed by the end of the year. It will form a comprehensive and effective basis for a policy on a circular economy ecosystem in the management of solid waste, including food waste.

“In this matter, engagement sessions will continue to be carried out with state and local authorities, including in Sabah and Sarawak, to obtain feedback and views on the proposal,” it says in response to queries from The Star on whether the government intends to put in place a policy on the circular economy.
