I REFER to the letter “Don't bar the gifted”(StarEducation, April 29). My daughter did her Penilaian Tahap Satu (PTS) in 1997, when it was just into its second year. She qualified to enter Year Five.
The test was later scrapped due to claims that PTS students did not do well in the Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) exam.
