A GROUP of 25 children from Rumah Kids, Subang Jaya had a memorable time at the official launch of “A Fun-Tastic Christmas with Animated Mr Bean and Friends” at Sungei Wang Plaza recently.
The event was also part of the shopping centre’s corporate social responsibility programme and Christmas celebration.
The children were treated to a live preview of the animated Mr Bean and Friends as well as a photography session with Santa Claus and his elves followed by lunch at U-Cafe.
The children received goodie bags from the mall’s management represented by complex manager K.C. Choong.
Sungai Wang Plaza Marketing Communications senior executive Joanne Lee said this year’s Christmas launch was extra special as the children were invited to the mall for a day of entertainment and laughter instead of the usual routine of visiting the children at the charity home.
“Christmas is the season of giving and sharing.
“Our idea is to share happiness and love with the children by having them here with us in the shopping mall to experience a Christmas celebration,” said Lee.
Rumah Kids, located in USJ 1, Subang Jaya is under the umbrella of the Grace Community Services group and has been assisting abused, orphaned and abandoned children since 1991, sheltering and rescuing displaced children from a life on the streets as well as from broken homes.
The home currently houses 30 children under the care of Brother Neil.
“Mr Bean and friends” will continue to make appearances at the shopping centre’s Concourse Level at 1pm, 4pm and 7pm from Dec 5 to 7, Dec 12 to 14, Dec 19 to 21 and Dec 24 to 25.
Shoppers who spend a minimum of RM150 in accumulated receipts in the same day are entitled to redeem one complimentary pass at the Customer Service Counter at the Lower Ground floor to meet “Mr Bean and friends”.
