THE Ipoh City Council will be placing polystyrene foam pellets into the septic tanks of the 283,247 premises under its jurisdiction in a bid to eradicate the dengue menace.

Perak Health Committee chairman Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon said polystyrene foam would cut off the oxygen to the larvae in the water while making it impenetrable for mosquitoes trying to lay eggs there.
