THE stretch of Malacca called Jalan Temenggong used to be two of its oldest streets — Mill Road and Egerton Road.
In the 1930s Mill Road spanned the junction of Jalan Bunga Raya to Lorong Bukit China, after which it was Egerton Road, all the way to the Jalan Munshi Abdullah and Jalan Laksamana Cheng Ho intersection.
