IT is very rare for any Sarawak Cabinet ministers or assistant ministers to admit in public that illegal logging is a big problem in this state – let alone the Chief Minister himself.

In the past, usually they would issue denials after denials when asked by the press on such matters and would usually blame the Opposition and environmental activists for telling lies and for smearing the state’s image.
