Li Yuan Dim Sum Restaurant at Medan Ipoh Bistari is highly fancied for its Hong Kong-style dim sum and Shanghai-style la mian homemade noodle.
Some of its popular dim sum dishes include the lau sar pao (pandan-flavoured steamed salted egg bun), steamed bacon rolls with black pepper sauce, deep-fried crispy bun with chicken floss and abalone siew mai with oyster sauce.
All these tasty morsels are prepared fresh from the kitchen with the best-quality ingredients.
The steaming hot delectable lau sar pao is soft and fluffy and it comes in three pieces with each order.
Those who enjoy eating this bun would be wary of the creamy custard that will come oozing out after taking a bite out of it.
The bacon on the steamed bacon rolls are first pan-seared to bring out its flavour before being wrapped around a pork ball, steamed and later topped off with black pepper sauce.
The deep-fried crispy bun with chicken floss has a thin crisp outer layer that is complemented with the aromatic sesame seed.
The inside of the bun remains soft, fluffy, and filled with delicious chicken floss.
Apart from its delectable selection of dim sum, Li Yuan also serves a wide selection of Chinese-style la mian noodles.
Customers can choose to have the noodles in broth or tossed with sauce, all served with minced meat.
And for the adventurous that can take the heat, try their Chilli Oil Noodle with Mustard, springy noodles tossed in spicy chilli oil, served with minced pork, and preserved vegetables.
Li Yuan also serves the handmade tou seok meen (knife-sliced noodle) but only available during the evening.
Despite being thinly sliced, the noodles are still springy in texture, served with minced meat in sauce or broth.
Also popular at Li Yuan are its dumpling dishes, served in chilli oil or chicken broth.
The meat, wrapped in a layer of semi-translucent skin, is steamed to perfection to bring out its flavour.
Li Yuan opens between 7am and 2.30pm and 6.30pm and 10.30pm daily, except Wednesday.
